{"id":9390,"date":"2025-03-07T12:46:04","date_gmt":"2025-03-07T11:46:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/daharicomores.org\/?p=9390"},"modified":"2025-03-07T12:46:04","modified_gmt":"2025-03-07T11:46:04","slug":"decouvrez-notre-strategie-marine-2025-2030","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/daharicomores.org\/en\/decouvrez-notre-strategie-marine-2025-2030\/","title":{"rendered":"Discover our Marine Strategy 2025-2030!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Our new marine strategy is based on 18 months of discussions with stakeholders at the local, national and international levels, as well as on the success of the <a href=\"https:\/\/daharicomores.org\/en\/la-premiere-reserve-marine-permanente-aux-comores-un-modele-de-conservation-innovant\/\">first No-Take-Zone<\/a> ...managed by fishers in the Comoros, facilitated by Dahari in 2021. We aim to restore the country\u2019s reefs by establishing a network of fisher-managed reserves, which will maximize benefits for both fisheries and biodiversity, while fostering learning and mutual support among fishers.<\/p>\n<p>This strategy is built upon five essential pillars that ensure an approach that is both context-specific and adaptable:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Co-designing reserves with fishermen<\/strong>, by involving all groups of fishers and incorporating ecological and social criteria.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Co-designing governance by fishermen<\/strong> which avoids institutions imposed from the outside, by using a two-tiered system in which local authorities validate and support the decisions made by fishers.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Encouraging compliance with management measures<\/strong> by offering direct benefits integrated into fishery value chains to strengthen existing livelihoods.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Advocating for the rights of fishermen<\/strong> and for the legal and political recognition of the model, building upon a well-established collaboration with the Comoros\u2019 Directorate General for Fisheries Resources.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Ensuring data-driven learning<\/strong> derived from reef monitoring, fishery catches, and socio-economic aspects, to inform adaptive management and strengthen recognition of the model.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Download our strategy to learn more about our theory of change and our expansion plans: <a href=\"https:\/\/daharicomores.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/Dahari-Marine-Strategy-2025-2030.pdf\">https:\/\/daharicomores.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/Dahari-Marine-Strategy-2025-2030.pdf<\/a><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Notre nouvelle strat\u00e9gie marine s&rsquo;appuie sur 18 mois de r\u00e9flexion avec des parties prenantes au niveau local, national et international, ainsi que sur le succ\u00e8s de la premi\u00e8re r\u00e9serve permanente g\u00e9r\u00e9e par les p\u00eacheurs.euses aux Comores, facilit\u00e9e par Dahari en 2021.
