‘4 islands biodiversity’ circuit

Dahari has offered the ‘Four Islands Biodiversity’ trip since 2014. It was devised for lovers of biodiversity, who wish to visit Comoros in search of rare species: birds, butterflies, reptiles, and bats…


Programme itinerary:

Day 1:

  • Arrival on Grande Comore, at Moroni airport. Climb Karthala volcano. Wildlife observation.
  • Night in the forest (in a tent).


Day 2:

  • Visit to Karthala and the Grille forest.
  • Night in Moroni (hotel).


Day 3:

  • Flight to the island of Mohéli. Climb to the forest of Nioumachoua from the south of the island. Flora and fauna observation.
  • Night in the forest (in a tent).


Day 4:

  • Trek through Nioumachoua forest. Descent to Fomboni.
  • Night in Fomboni (hotel).


Day 5:

  • Flight to Anjouan. Observation of the flora and fauna in Moya forest.
  • Night in the forest (in a tent).


Day 6:

  • Return to Mutsamudu and a trek to the Hombo forest. Observation of wildlife in the Hombo forest.
  • Night in Mutsamudu (hotel).


Day 7:

  • Flight to Mayotte. Journey to Grande-Terre. Forest trek in search of animal and plant species.
  • Night in Mayotte (hotel).


Day 8:

  • Free day in Mayotte. A range of activities to choose from with our partners the Naturalistes de Mayotte: nature trek, bird-watching outing, a boat trip on the lagoon, scuba diving.
  • Night in Mayotte (hotel).


Day 9:

  • Return to Dzaoudzi airport. Return flight.


Practical information:

  • Length of trip: 9 days/ 8 nights
  • Size of group: 2 to 6 people
  • Recommended physical condition: high (treks of between 6 and 8 hours)
