On May 18, Dahari participated in the Europe Day organised in Moroni. This event was the opportunity to gather the Comorian organisations that benefitted from European Union (EU) financing for their projects.
Dahari presented its EU-supported activities through the project of support for technical and professional training (PAFTP), which finances agricultural outreach training programmes, organises training on agricultural techniques to benefit farmers of the NGO’s 13 intervention villages, and provides support for agricultural product commercialisation, points of sale, and agricultural fairs.
A new €50,000.00 grant was awarded to Dahari for the 2017-2019 period to support the expansion of the NGO’s intervention to other villages of Anjouan, Grande-Comore, and Mohéli.
On this occasion, during the debates organised around the themes of “Agricultural resilience to climate change” and “Vocational education and training,” Dahari was able to communicate to the public its principal actions for adaptation to climate change and reinforcement of farmers’ technical abilities.
For nearly 60 years, the EU has been committed in the Comoros in the sectors of road transportation, education, vocational training, drinking water supply, fight against climate change, support for electoral processes, and energy. The EU also supports the civil society and local authorities—EUR 4,100,000.00 for the 2015-2020 period—in the fight against poverty and the rural development of the country.
Dahari thanks the European Union for its unwavering support!
